On 26th October 2014, as Muslims across the globe observed the holy month of Muharram, the mission commemorated this month by mourning on the events of Kerbala. Various programs were conducted in all BMMK 15 centres and in Mombasa for the first ten days of the month.
We, the undersigned UK Shia organisations, strongly condemn the atrocities being carried out by terrorists in Iraq, including the horrific massacres targeting Sunni worshipers at a mosque in Diyala on 22 August and the massacre that targeted Shia worshippers at a mosque in Baghdad on 25 August. We call on the Iraqi government to bring the perpetrators – whoever they may be – to justice as soon as possible.
Earlier this month, the grave and shrine of Hazrat Owais Qarni was attacked and completely destroyed. Al-Qaeda linked rebels are being held responsible for bombing the gravesite of the companion of The Holy Prophet, who was well known for his support of the Prophet’s family.
