For many years, international and civil society organizations have been marking ‘World Toilet Day’ all over the world. However it was not until July 2013 that the United Nations officially declared 19 November as ‘World Toilet Day’. The objective of World Toilet Day is to make sanitation problems a global priority and bring about changes in behaviour and policy on issues ranging from improving water management to ending open defecation.

Ramadan Relief 1437: Celebrating 40 years of serving humanity, The World Federation launches Ramadan Relief Fund 2016 – please join us today!
2016 marks the 40th anniversary of The World Federation’s service to our global community and the annual Ramadan Relief Fund continues to be our leading initiative in addressing poverty and hunger during the Holy month of Ramadan. In the Ramadan Du’as which we recite nightly, we ask our Lord:
“O Allah, on this day, let me have mercy on the orphans, and feed (the hungry), and spread peace, and keep company with the noble-minded, O the Shelter of the hopeful.”
This year, The World Federation has identified over 73,000 orphans, children, seniors, widows, families and the disabled who need our help during the month of Ramadan. These families live in different countries including Afghanistan, Bosnia, Gaza, India, Iraq, Kenya, Madagascar, Myanmar, Pakistan, South Africa, Syria, Tanzania and Uganda. Living in poverty and struggling with adversities is difficult enough. Families depend on the Ramadhan Relief Fund so that they too can fast and pray in peace without having to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Nothing is more difficult than facing these men, women and children with nothing to give.
This year, with your help and donations, we hope to provide various forms of aid such as food baskets, iftaar, sehri, debt relief, medical assistance and other essential items and services to beneficiary families who are counting on our help.
• For as little as £40 GBP / $55 USD / $65 CAD, you can feed a family of four for one month
Join hands with us and help in a meaningful way. Together we can build a safety net for families this Ramadhan. You can help by:
• Making a donation to the Ramadhan Relief Fund;
• Join our ‘Children Helping Children’ Campaign to fundraise for Ramadhan Relief;
• Support children, youth and volunteers who are fundraising for Ramadhan Relief in your communities;
• Sponsor a country or region in which we are working in;
Stay tuned for more ways you can get involved over the coming weeks.
On this very blessed occasion of Shab-e-Barat and the birthday of Imam-e-Zamana (aj), may Allah (swt) accept your every du’a and answer your every hajaat. May He hasten the reappearance of our Imam and give us the resolve to walk in his footsteps today and always. Ameen.
Thanks to the generous support of donors and volunteers, we distributed about $1.36 million USD last year in various forms of aid including food baskets, iftaars, monetary assistance and debt relief. Please help us again this year with a donation to the Ramadhan Relief Fund. Your support is making a real difference!
