Newswire 26/08/15 - 'We Strive to do Better'

Posted on Thu, 2015-08-27 10:13

Dear Community Members,

Salaamun Alaykum.

On the birth anniversary of Imam Ali Ridha (as), I wish you all a Kushali Mubarak.  May we apply the many lessons and teachings from the life of the Ahlulbayt (as) in our lives, inshAllah.  This week, one of our volunteers, Maliha Sumar, wrote an article on some of the teachings from Imam Reza (as) on the health benefits of specific foods.  It is certainly an interesting read!

Further to my speech in Stanmore on our Yemen appeal, we have received lots of positive feedback.  Alhamdullilah, our work with those who have fled Yemen is progressing well and we ask for your continued prayers in the success of this project.

Over the past few months, we have been working on the implementation of a new donor management system – one that will allow us to communicate better on the work we are doing and prepare personalised reports for our donors quicker.  InshAllah, we will start with using this on the Zainabiyya Child Sponsorship Scheme over the coming months.

In other news, the Madinah and Bab courses finished last week. The feedback from participants and mentors has been fantastic.  A reflection from one of the participants can be read on our website

The season of Hajj is also quickly approaching.  There are a number of resources available on our youtube page and at WFShop.  Our annual Qurbani appeal is now also open in time for Eid Al-adha.

Finally, in our last newswire our president, Dr Moledina, asked for comments and questions and we have Alhamdullilah received a lot of feedback.  We ask you continue to send this to us as we strive to better the organisation for the benefit of our community and generations to come, inshAllah.

With salaams and duas,

Shabbar Dhalla
