Muharram and Safar are the months that mu’mineen dedicate to mourning the tragedy of Ashura and its aftermath. Traditionally we attend majaalis and sessions of ‘aza. We read/listen to poetry and lamentations as a form of offering our condolences to the Ahlulbayt (a). We also strive to educate ourselves about the events surrounding the tragedy of Karbala. One way to achieve this effectively is to read.
