Anecdotes, stories, tales, narratives, and traditions have existed amongst human beings since the dawn of time. They grow up with them, live by them, refer back to them, and are inspired by them. They are one of the best methods of initiating reflection and change in a person, and have been used in this way throughout history.
The Anecdotes for Reflection series of books has been in circulation amongst English speaking communities for many years now. The author, Sayyid Ali Akbar Sadaqat, has researched and gathered a collection of anecdotes under a hundred different headings to guide and inspire the reader to a better level of ethics, religiosity, and spirituality.
Each section references a verse from the Qur’an and a hadith of the Ahl al-Bayt, and contains anecdotes relating to that topic. The anecdotes themselves are short, simple, and easy to remember. They will make the reader laugh, cry, feel inspired, or utterly shocked.
The four previously-published volumes have now been included with the latest fifth volume, and are presented in this single volume publication.
Readers will find this an invaluable resource for themselves, their children, their students, and any audience they may be addressing.
Now also available on Amazon and in other e-versions on the WF shop. This volume is an introduction to a novel presentation of the tafsir of the Qur’an based on the works of classical Muslim exegetes. It is reported that Imam al-Hussain (a) said:
“The Book of Allah is based on four things: expressions, allusions, subtleties, and realities. The expressions are for the common people; the allusions are for the elite; the subtleties are for the friends of Allah, and the realities are for the prophets.”
Islamic Education Department is proud to announce the launch of Tafsīr Tadabbur al-Qur’an.
This work is the awaited manifestation of a long-held dream by The World Federation of KSIMC to publish the tafsīr of the whole Qur’an in the English language.
Tafsīr Tadabbur al-Qur’an is authored by the prominent scholars Shaykh Abbas Jaffer and Dr Masuma Jaffer, along with contributions from Shaykh Mohammad Saeed Bahmanpour and Shaykh Dr Tahir Ridha Jaffer.
In it, the authors have employed a novel style of presenting tafsīr by combining reflective, and practical elements that of utmost significance for everyday life within the explanation of the verses. It also draws on the work of several classical and modern scholars, from the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (a).
The verses are discussed in a simple and comprehensible way, so that readers with no knowledge of Arabic and no background in Qur’anic studies can find it excitingly easy to understand.
In this preliminary volume, five chapters have been explored; namely, the frequently recited: al-Fātiḥah, al-Kāfirūn, al-Ikhlāṣ, al-Falaq, and al-Nās.
Launched in March 2023 in Dar es Salaam, you can now get your hands on the first complete volume of Tafsir Tadabbur al-Qur’an, which covers the entire 30th juz. It gives interesting and easy-to-understand insights into the verses of these chapters, all with innovative, practical applications in one’s daily life.
