Respected Community Members

As Salaamu Alaykum and Eid al-Ghadir Mubarak

What a joyous eve and day for the lovers and followers of Imam Ali (a). On this very special and auspicious day of Eid al-Ghadir, Eid Mubarak to all brothers and sisters. The deeply penetrated love of Imam Ali (a) in our hearts is the greatest gift we have as a Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri community that binds us together united towards sublime and virtuous goals in our lives. We thank Allah (SWT) with the following recitation on the eve and day of Ghadir:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُتَمَسِّكِينَ
Praise be to Allah Who has blessed us to be among those who cling and hold

بِوِلاَيَةِ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلائِمَّةِ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
to the divinely commissioned leadership and authority of Amir al- Mu’minin and all the Imams, peace be upon them all.

As a community, we need to be constantly thanking Allah SWT who guided us towards the path of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) over 150 years ago. Our constant adherence to the Wilayat of Imam Ali (a) and the Aimma (a) bonds us together with the adherence to divine guidance. We are also fortunate that we have constant guidance from scholars and spiritual guides who have trained us to remain on the path of Imam Ali (a) and embedded the love of Ahl al-Bayt (a) in our hearts.

During our many trips to the holy cities over the years, we have been fortunate to spend quality time with our Marja and other Mujtahideen in discussing a range of both ideological and social issues and we have always come out of such meeting re-energised to remain and strengthen our bonds with the wilaya of Aimma (a). It is the hard work, dedication, and sincerity of our ulama, zakireen, madrasah teachers, elders, families and volunteers across our communities over the decades that have led us to be steadfast on the path of the Ahl al-Bayt (a). This work continues till today and I am all so thankful especially to all our community serving scholars (male and female) and madrasah teachers for their efforts in keep our community connected to the teachings of Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt (a).

On this day of Eid, can I humbly ask you all to remember all our community scholars who have passed away and have contributed enormously, and in particular Marhum Haji Naji and Marhum Mulla Asgher with sura al-Fatiha.

Once again Eid Mubarak to you and your families.

With Salaams and Duas,

Safder Jaffer
