The WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer, recently embarked on a visit to the UK. Accompanied by the Head of Islamic Education, Shaykh Dr. Murtadha Alidina, and The WF Secretary General, Alhaj Ali Jawad Hansraj, they engaged with Office Bearers of CoEJ, and the Executive Committees whilst visiting various communities.  The WF delegation were accompanied by the CoEJ President Alhaj Salim Rehmatullah and Vice President Murtaza Kanani to a number of Jamaats. The President highlighted the ongoing work of The WF, emphasised the importance of understanding grassroots issues, the need for establishing our own schools, and other community matters. His main aim was to bring light to WF-AID’s Ali Asghar Water Appeal 2024.

“One of the ways leadership can appreciate the honest feedback from the ultimate stakeholders we serve (our members) is to visit and engage with them. I was pleased that together with the CoEJ leadership, we visited six jamaats during Muharram. This not only gave us a chance to partake in Azadari at various centers, it gave us a chance to talk to the grassroot and jamaat leadership first hand and understand the real challenges facing our communities. It is clear that the biggest challenge is understanding the needs of the current generation and being relevant in addressing their needs. The trip was an eye opener and also provided great bonding between WF and CoEJ leadership. It is only through mutual collaboration and a common vision that we can address our challenges. I am keen to do the same in other regions during this term, Inshallah.”
