From 9th to 11th November 2024, the WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer, embarked on an impactful visit to Gujarat, India. This visit highlighted critical community development projects including housing developments, engaged grassroots leaders, and reinforced collaboration between The WF, India Federation, and the Council of Gujarat.

Session with Gujarat Leaders

The visit began with a meeting in Mumbai with Sayyid Ahmedali Abedi sahab – Representative of His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (dz) in India, to discuss collaboration opportunities between Al Muntazar Academy and the Islamic Education sector of The World Federation. The WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer reviewed the university’s curriculum, infrastructure, and potential for joint educational programs that would benefit students across the region.

Inauguration of Girls’ Hostel

The WF President inaugurated a state-of-the-art seven-storey girls’ hostel at the Umme Kulsum Talim Kendra, managed by Parveen ben. This facility will provide secure accommodation for female students traveling from neighboring cities and villages to pursue education in Bhavnagar. The World Federation contributed towards one floor of this hostel.

Inauguration of Mannat Tower Flats

In Bhavnagar, Alhaj Safder Jaffer – The WF President inaugurated 22 flats at Mannat Tower. These homes, acquired under The WF’s Scheme B (Rent-to-Own), represent a significant step in empowering grassroots families to achieve homeownership.

A key meeting between The WF, India Federation and Council of Gujarat leadership focused on streamlining operations in India. Attendees included prominent leaders Alhaj Safder Jaffer – WF President, Alhaj Suhel Bhurani – India Federation President, and Alhaj Nihal Bhurani – Council of Gujarat President. This collaborative session laid the groundwork for smoother coordination in future initiatives and devised clear plans for economic upliftment with particular focus on education and housing needs of our community in India.

Welcome Program by India Federation

The evening concluded with a vibrant welcome program organized by the India Federation. Community leaders were felicitated, and past and present philanthropists were recognized for their contributions. WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer addressed the gathering, inspiring collective action.

Groundbreaking Ceremony at Mahuva

The WF President attended a groundbreaking ceremony at Fatema Society, Mahuva, where The WF pledged numerous flats for the Sadaat community. This initiative underscores The WF’s commitment to providing affordable housing to underprivileged families.

Welcome Program by Mahuva Madrasah Party Jamaat

Alhaj Safder Jaffer – WF President, was honoured at a warm reception by the Mahuva Madrasah Party Jamaat. Prominent members and social workers of the community were in attendance to discuss the state of the community in Mahuva.

Visit to Panjetani Masjid

The President visited Panjetani Masjid, a unique mosque with a basement graveyard and a tree growing through its center. This visit highlighted the rich heritage of the Naqvi Sadaat Jamaat in Mahuva.

Announcement of Mulla Asghar Memorial Housing Complex in Talaja

In Talaja, Alhaj Safder Jaffer, alongside India Federation and Council of Gujarat leaders, announced the Mulla Asghar Memorial Housing Complex, a groundbreaking project aimed at addressing the housing needs of the local community. This project would be classified under a Scheme B which would be based on a rent-to-own basis.

Welcome Program by Council of Gujarat

Council of Gujarati hosted a well-attended conference in Talaja, where The WF’s efforts was appreciated. The program also included local donor fundraising for various project, ensuring sustainable support for the initiatives.

Visit to al-Khoei Park

The WF President visited al-Khoei Park in Ahmedabad, a residential project completed in 1993 with the support of The World Federation. Despite its age, the structure remains robust, requiring only minor renovations.

Visit to al-Khadija Park

The President also toured al-Khadija Park in Ahmedabad, a housing project built by private donors in 2004, and the historic Kalupur Masjid, one of the oldest KSI mosques globally.

Mahdi Community Centre – Sarkhej, Ahmedabad

The WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer inspected the construction site of Mahdi Community Centre, Ahmedabad, a new community project with facilities including Imambarghah halls, Madrasah cum Education Centre and a girls hostel. The WF has committed with the support of Mohsin & Fauzia Jaffer Foundation to funding a girls’ hostel floor and a community training centre with the support of Imam Hasan Centre. He also met with the project’s committee, ensuring its progress aligns with community needs.

Youth Connect Program

The WF President – Alhaj Safder Jaffer engaged with young professionals from the Sarkhej community, including IT experts, medical practitioners, and engineers. This interactive session aimed to inspire the next generation to contribute to community development.

Sarkhej Jamaat Welcome Program

The visit concluded with a community-wide welcome event hosted by Sarkhej Jamaat. Alhaj Safder Jaffer delivered a motivational speech emphasizing service to the community and conveyed a heartfelt advise from His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (dz).
