The World Federation of KSIMC, in collaboration with its Regional Federations, proudly announces the International Qur’an Competition, under the auspices of its newly established International Outreach Department.
This initiative aims to inspire and engage our youth from around the world by honouring the profound beauty and teachings of the Holy Qur’an. By fostering personal growth and strengthening global unity, the competition also seeks to highlight exceptional talents within our communities.
Promote Qur’anic Learning and Reflection:
Support personal growth through reflection and engagement, facilitated by mentorship from scholars and professionals in Hifdh, Recitation, Mafahim, and Tafsir.
Encourage Global Participation:
Unite communities worldwide through local and regional qualifiers, culminating in a global showcase during this Year of the Youth.
Recognise Outstanding Talent:
Celebrate exceptional individuals by providing an international platform to demonstrate their expertise in Qur’anic studies.
Empower Youth:
Actively engage participants aged 18–40, strengthening their bond with the Qur’an and promoting a culture of lifelong learning.
Foster Cultural Exchange:
Build understanding and community among youth from diverse backgrounds, united by shared values and the teachings of the Qur’an.
Competition Categories:
Participants will compete in four distinct categories:
1) Tarteel Recitation (Separate competitions for male and female participants)
2) Hifdh (Memorisation of the Qur’an)
3) Mafahim (Word-by-Word Translation)
4) Tafsir (Interpretation; specific Surahs and verses to be announced)
Age Groups:
The competition is divided into two age groups:
Group A: 18–25 years
Group B: 26–40 years
Competition Structure:
The event will follow a three-tier format:
Tier I: Local and Regional Competitions
Regional Federations will organise local Jamaat-level competitions, engaging communities within their regions. These would conclude by summer 2025.
Tier II: Inter-Regional Finals
Regional Federations will host inter-regional finals and submit the names of finalists to The World Federation no later than 10th September 2025, to arrange travel for the grand finale.
Tier III: Grand Finale in Iraq
Date: InshaAllah around 1st of Rajab 1447 – December 2025 (TBC)
Venue: Najaf or Karbala (TBC)
Participants: Finalists from six Regional Federations will compete for top honors.
Training and Development:
Throughout the year, participants will benefit from expert-led training programs designed to hone their skills in their chosen categories, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the competition.
